Anna Lindh Foundation

The Anna Lindh Foundation is an organization shared and resourced by over forty Euro-Mediterranean countries, to bring people together as a way to promote dialogue between cultures and respect for diversity.

To fulfill this objective, the Foundation leads regional initiatives in the Euromed space and support local activities carried out by organizations based across civil society which advocate for a better understanding among people, religions and beliefs, and champion human rights and democracy.

The Foundation is a central Actor of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, and a facilitator of the participation of civil society in the ‘Union for the Mediterranean’. It works also as a Centre for Information and Dissemination of this initiative, and as an Observatory of intercultural dialogue in the region.

The Foundation coordinates a Euro-Mediterranean Network gathering hundreds of social and institutional bodies which share the values of the Foundation and work to make dialogue, peace and prosperity possible in the region.

The Anna Lindh Forum 2010

From 4 - 7 March, 2010 more than 500 representatives of civil society organisations as well as high-profile speakers from the political, cultural and economic field from the entire Union for the Mediterranean region, will gather in Barcelona, Spain for Anna Lindh Forum 2010.

The Anna Lindh Forum 2010 is a major civil society gathering for the promotion of intercultural action across the Mediterranean region organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation in partnership with the European Institute of the Mediterranean, Head of the ALF Spanish Network.

The Forum aims to give new momentum to the cooperation among civil society organizations committed to intercultural dialogue in the Union for the Mediterranean region and to enrich the activities of the forty-three National Networks of the Anna Lindh Foundation.

The first "pillar" of the programme Agora will include plenary debate and workshops with experts on the achievements and challenges of social and cultural cooperation in the regional framework. The second "pillar" Medina brings together members of the Anna Lindh Networks and regional partners to to share ideas and build new partnerships and initiatives.

The Forum will be preceded by our training seminar and writeshop "Peace Bag for EuroMed Youth" taking place from 25 February - 4 March 2010, organized by Fundació Catalunya Voluntária with the support of Anna Lindh Foundation. The organising team of the training seminar as well as many partners and participants will take part in Anna Lindh Forum 2010.
