Established in 2007 as an initiative of the youth association Barcelona Voluntaria, a member of the Spanish network of Anna Lindh Foundation since 2004, we are a youth led foundation.
We are collecting the know-how and experience of Barcelona Voluntaria, who, with the support of the EuroMed-Youth Program of the European Commission and the Spanish National Agency, organised several youth exchanges, training courses and networking seminars, hosting the Youth Exchange "For Greener world" in 2002, the CMS "Mosamed" in 2005 and the Training Course "EuroMediterranean Active Citizenship" in 2007.
In April 2009, Fundació Privada Catalunya Voluntária organized a training course "Peace Bag for Europe", participated by a total of 22 young people from Armenia, Belaroussia, Bulgaria, Estonia, Georgia, Romania and Ukraine. It is based on the fruitful outcome and success of this training course that we are adapting this initiative into the Euro-Mediterranean context and organizing "Peace Bag for EuroMed Youth" longrun programme 2009-2011 - believing in the importance onf intercultural learning aspect of peace work to be shared within the region.
Foundation Catalunya Voluntaria became a member of Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation in May 2009.
As for the office of Youth Service, IAVE Youth Office is based in Catalonia. Since it has grown and has participated in more high-level international meetings, the office has also begun to design new communication products and has launched its new website, as so has the Foundation.
